Library Club Meeting Highlight #1

In the first few weeks of Library Club meetings, we (the instructor and G9-12 students) tried to identify the needs for transforming the 1F Library into a better self-initiate learning hub for high schoolers, draft action plans and design activities accordingly. We hope that the library is not only for self study but also for collaboration among various clubs and stakeholders. Also, we hope that by the end of the school year, through carrying out the plans, we can enhance the awareness that "library helps you grow as an IB learner" among all Kuei Shan students. Below are students' action plans:

The student above is in charge of library book circulation. He demonstrated his awareness of who the library patrons are (teachers and students) and of how visual aids (posters) can make library rules visible to all patrons.

This student is in charge of book circulation and cataloging. In his action plan, he considers time for providing this service to the school community.

Some students volunteer to read to younger students (K-5) and support the management of PYP Library. Their volunteering activities showcase the collaborative culture at Kuei Shan.

This student from DP level is aware of his strength as a writer, an insider of IB education, and a contributor to school culture transformation.

This student showed her enthusiasm in collaborating with clubs inside and outside the school. She is creative in designing a variety of fun activities.

Through the initial exploration of how library actively functions as a learning hub, these club members expressed their interests and substantiated their ideas in the writing of action plans. We look forward to their further actions :)
