It's all about energy! G10 Photosynthesis Lab!

The G10 Biology students recently finished their photosynthesis lab. The pictures below show them working on their experiments. Many work with different range of lab equipment to collect good data for their lab report. Let's read through their lab stories through photos!

Harry and Claire work with colored cellophane to produce different wavelength lights for their plant photosynthesis experiment.

Lex adjusts flasks containing Elodea (waterweed) plants. Below the flasks are cells phone lights. The setup later is enclosed in a box so no outside could interfere with the photosynthesis results.

Due to the strong light, Andy needs sunglasses to adjust the light bulbs.

Anny is doing the video recording while Belle is looking on.

Francesca, Kelly, Felix are observing carefully for changes (counting bubbles), while Zechariah is recording the results on his cell phone. A thermometer is used to measure minute temperature changes.

Kate is video recording while her team mates are observing, making sure their experiment is on the right track.

Michelle works with pH paper, while Kyle and Spencer prepare different solutions to conduct their plant photosynthesis experiment.

The end of the story?

This is a green world, with animals comparatively few and small, and dependent on the leaves. By leaves we live

as the British biologist, sociologist, geographer, philanthropist and pioneering town planner, Patrick Geddes (1854-1932) famously stated.
