Design students in grade 9 have just finished their Customized Toy Design project with the help of Kuei Shan's kindergarteners.
The project began with drawings done by KSS kindergartners of an original "creature." Each grade 9 design student selected one of these drawings and began the process of turning it into a functioning toy. Designers were required to interview their clients (the kindergarteners) to better understand their client's concepts and needs. After that, grade 9 design students began the task of turning a 2D image into a functioning 3D toy. G9 design students also created a storybook narrative to accompany the product, a narrative inspired by the original kindergarten artwork. Our grade 9 design students will be sharing their products and processes with the kindergarten students on March 14.
