Introduction to Lanya (G6-8) Library

In the summer prior to the beginning of 2019/20 academic year, Lanya Library was organized for students from Grades 6 to 8 on the Lanya campus. Instead of applying traditional Dewey Decimal Classification for cataloging library books, the teacher librarians decided to catalog books according to 8 subject groups in IB MYP program. It is hoped that such cataloging can guide students to find books meeting their learning needs and interests, in both Mandarin Chinese and English. At the moment, there are more than 500 English and Chinese physical books in the collection. More carefully selected books would be purchased and organized in the near future. It is a school-wide shared goal that the library can become a center for guided or self-initiated learning for our Lanya students :)
