Background:
This year's Kuei Shan Learning with/without Wall aims to provide students with an unforgettable high-quality outdoor learning experience, with the purpose of connecting students with the world. Therefore, "Be prepared," one of the mottos of the World Scout Movement, will serve as the theme of the SY112 Scouting Day.
Baden-Powell elucidated in the Scout Handbook that "being prepared" means being physically and mentally ready at all times to take on responsibilities and accomplish tasks. Similarly, this aligns with the objectives of this wall-less learning experience, actively preparing students or putting them in a state of readiness to begin connecting with the world and addressing global issues, which closely aligns with what Baden-Powell hoped for young people to respond quickly to emergencies. (At the time, with World War I looming, Scouts—a service-oriented organization, not a military one—would soon be called upon to play their part.)
