SY111 Scouting Day

The Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 10 school-wide scouting trip at Pushin Ranch was a resounding success, with students from all grades getting a chance to experience the joys of outdoor camping, scouting, and teamwork.

The day started with a flag-raising ceremony, where all the students gathered together to hoist the Taiwan flag and sing the national anthem. The ceremony was followed by an introductory session on pioneering, where advanced scouts guided younger students in assembling tents and making wooden structures with poles. It was a hands-on learning experience, and the students enthusiastically participated and learned new skills along the way.

After the pioneering session, the students came together to cook lunch using school-prepared food and recipes. The students washed the ingredients, organized the cookware, and created a delicious and nutritious lunch together. It was a great opportunity for the students to collaborate and learn the skill of cooking.

In the afternoon, the students participated in small group activities and games around the ranch. They played various games designed to help them learn various scouting knowledge and skills, such as Morse code and the unique features of different plants. Through this experience, not only did the students build their teamwork skills, but the advanced scouts also built their leadership skills.

In the evening, the students gathered around for dinner, a bonfire, and student performances. The students had prepared various acts, including skits, dances, and songs. They performed in front of their peers and teachers, showcasing their talents and skills. It was a great way to end the day, and the students went home with a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

The school-wide scouting trip at Pushin Ranch was a fantastic experience for all the students involved. It provided them with an opportunity to learn new skills, build relationships with their peers, and connect with nature. It was a wonderful reminder of the importance of outdoor education and the benefits of scouting.
