G8 Guidance Field Trip

Recently, Grade 8 students went rock climbing as part of the Career Planning unit in Guidance class. While the experience was undoubtedly thrilling, it also served as a powerful metaphor for pursuing goals, even when the going gets tough.

Rock climbing is an activity that requires focus, determination, and a willingness to push past one's comfort zone. Although students were faced with a challenging climb, as they persevered, they were able to reach the top and achieve their goals.

This experience mirrors the challenges that students may encounter as they pursue their goals in their career paths. It's easy to become discouraged when faced with obstacles or setbacks, but like rock climbers, it's essential to keep pushing forward. We hope that students embrace determination and perseverance as they prepare for the next chapters of their lives, and learn to keep climbing and never give up.
