Personal Project Product - Horror Short Stories
Creating my Personal Project Product was a truly enlightening experience for me. It provided me with the opportunity to delve into my passion for literature and explore a genre that truly captivates me: thriller and horror. However, as I delved deeper into the production process, I realized that I wanted to infuse more depth into my stories.
Inspiration struck while I was watching a Taiwanese television series that masterfully utilized the thriller genre to shed light on parental issues prevalent in Taiwan. This sparked the idea of integrating horror elements into my stories to explore broader themes of humanity and global issues. Setting my stories in the 1950s allowed me to focus my research and add historical context to my narratives. My fascination with this era also played a significant role in my decision.
In crafting my stories, I often drew inspiration from real-life incidents of the 1950s, such as the Rockville train crash. By incorporating these events, I aimed to highlight the "Orientation of Time and Space" and provide readers with a deeper understanding of the significant events of the era. Additionally, I tackled global issues like gender inequality, mental health, and alcohol abuse, emphasizing their relevance then and now.
Personal Project Product Exhibition
For my Personal Project Product Exhibition, I sought to immerse visitors in the ambiance of the 1950s. I incorporated elements such as iconic poodle dresses to evoke the era's aesthetic. The exhibition board surpassed my expectations, receiving praise from classmates who even requested me to design the PP posters.
Though the process was stressful, the positive feedback and admiration for my exhibition made it all worthwhile. Several teachers were impressed and invited me to share my insights in their classes. This experience was truly memorable and prompted me to reflect on my potential in the chosen topic.
Overall, I cherished the journey of this project, but it also led me to ponder whether creative writing could be a viable career path for me.
