Doctors without Borders Club: Nursing Home Visit on March 8, 2022

Our club has decided to volunteer for a nursing home, so we contacted them for permission to visit. But due to COVID-19 pandemic, our club was not able to visit the elderly. So our club decided to invite all the high school and primary school students, as well as teachers to participate in writing greeting cards, to the nursing home. The purpose is to appreciate the social workers and the hard-working medical personnels for taking their time to take care of the elderly during the severe epidemic. Some of the students also wrote greeting cards, to care for the elderly.

We spent a lot of non-club time on promoting this event by making posters and extensive use of social media for promotions. After we collected all the cards from the students and teachers, we decorated the cards. We compiled small cards together for the primary school students for each class and wrote some descriptions as well.

Our club members decided to visit the nursing home, in order to give our cards to them. So we contacted them on which day will be available for us to send the card. After sending our lovely cards to them, the social worker gave us a certificate of merit to appreciate our participation in caring for medical personnels and elderly.
