Course That Weaves Life and Knowledge Together: 2021 Theory of Knowledge Exhibition at Taipei Kuei Shan School

June 11, 2021

Taipei Kuei Shan School held a live Theory of Knowledge (also known as TOK) Exhibition online today. TOK exhibition is one of the significant learning activities of IB DP Program. The purpose of the course is to cultivate students’ critical thinking, inquiry and reflection abilities. Through TOK course, students not only acquire knowledge but also understand the nature of knowledge. Most importantly, they can compare and contrast their perspectives with others’.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibition was held online for the first time. With the help of live broadcast, four students from both Chinese and English TOK courses shared their perspectives on certain issues and their learning outcomes with everyone. The instructors of the courses, TOK experts, and teachers of related fields were all invited to participate in this inspiring event to have further discussion with the students and also shared their valuable insights with the audience.

The lively interactions between students and teachers clearly demonstrated students’ passion for the course and their strong bonds with teachers. Moreover, students’ performance manifested their logical and critical thinking abilities. Each one of them introduced their works from their motivation of choosing their knowledge questions to the details of their research findings. They also ended their presentations with their learning reflections or their replies to the audience’s questions. It goes without saying that the long and fruitful learning process can help students develop their IB learner attributes. It’s definitely also a wonderful way to get inspired in a Friday afternoon with a group of great minds.
